Are we really a "family" at work? The Final Chapter Four simple steps....but it starts with me (and you) as a servant leader. If we want cultural change, we can't force programs, buy morale (for a time maybe), or dictate a set of values. These last for a season, but are not sustainable. Families are sustainable and go on regardless of circumstance, feeling, or belief. They may not be happy or even together, but they go on. To build something in a workplace that is also sustainable requires a way of thinking and feeling about each other. But it can be learned and practiced, and therefore, I argue, can be taught. And when we teach the right people first, they will turn and do the same for the next group. Culture is enabled at the top, but it is built and fed in the foundation of the organization.
